Purpose the main object of this study is to analysis of domestic agricultural product cultivation through the LCA (life cycle assessment).
The subject of study of study is 16 kinds of fruit agricultural products, which is the group with the highest number of certified acquisitions in the ‘low-carbon agriculture certification system’. The functional unit is defined as ‘Agricultural products (fruit) cultivation area (10 a, 1,000 m2)’ and statistics data from Rural Development Administration’s ‘Agricultural and livestock income data book’ were collected for LCA study. The results of Greenhouse Gas emission for 17 kinds of agricultural products (fruits) are as follow, tangerine (open field) 417 kgCO2eq./10a, tangerine (rain shelter) 1,027 kgCO2eq./10a, japanese apricon (open field) 344 kgCO2eq./10a etcs. Using the results of this study, a comparative analysis was conducted between the standards for certified emissions by agricultural products(national average carbon emissions) used in the ‘low-carbon agriculture certification system’. As a result, it was confirmed that the rate of change from about 3 to 101% compared to the existing value was shown by fluctuation of agricultural materials such as fertilizer and energy and using the latest LCI database. Accordingly, the incompleteness of the LCA due to the absence of related statistics and research data was confirmed, along with the need to secure the representativeness of the sample and the update of the applied LCI database. In line with the international trend of the need for supply chain management for carbon neutrality and product production, continuous research is needed to improve the methodology for calculating the environment of the agricultural sector, which is the basis of the national industry.
